Description
In Florence, among the palaces and gardens of the Medici, the Renaissance is reborn from the classical world. Cosimo the Elder founds the dynasty’s wealth, Lorenzo the Magnificent brings it to its intellectual peak, fostering an open-mindedness unusual for its time. Marsilio Ficino translates Plato after a millennium of oblivion, and in the garden of San Marco, amid marble dust and the scent of neroli, Michelangelo reveals his talent.
On this guided tour of Florence, we will recall the power of symbols that still today lets us recognize the Medici presence in a painting, a statue, a garden, shedding light on the fundamental role art played at the time.
At the heart of this story will be the women: Eleonora, Caterina, Anna Maria. Mothers, daughters, and wives who, in the shadows, were silent and decisive protagonists of Medici power.
